Corona-cation

Wow... what a weird time. What can I do to advance in my career during it?

Thanks to COVID-19 I can no longer travel to Prague for the McCann Erickson study abroad program to work with their clients and create a campaign. Now what?

Life as a Freelancer

Freelance work lets me work from home and stay safe during the pandemic. I created a profile on the website Upwork and have loved creating deliverables for my clients. As a freelancer I both manage my relationships with my clients and create the materials they are looking for, and it has helped me learn the account and creative aspects of the advertising agency life I have been so eager to join.

This military client wanted to replace the Rosie the Riveter logo with a strong Pacific Islander woman. You can see my original design for that in this gallery, and the final design that came out of meetings with the client

More Quarantine Opportunities

It's all about creative solutions, right?

Marketing Internship | Positively Impacting Communities INC.

PIC is a non-profit based in Shertz, Texas that focuses on helping communities through food giveaways, mentoring youth, volunteering at homeless shelters and bringing a positive impact on the world. When looking for a remote internship, I did not need to limit my search to nearby locations, and that helped me find PIC. I decided I could spend the summer using my education for good and helping this non-profit grow by running their social media and using analytics.

AD Learning Exchange (ALEx)

ALEx is a subscription based learning program for advertising professionals and students. With the help of these courses, I can spend quarantine learning tactics and techniques that may have taken me a while to learn while in the industry. I can continue my career watching these courses on influencer marketing, podcasts, digital reach and more within the safety of my home.

PR Council

I am taking webinar courses in order to complete the PR Council's Agency-Ready Certificate. The certificate requires 20 hours of webinars lead by agency professionals from Carmichael Lynch, Weber Shandwick, BCW, GOLIN and M Booth.

Sharpening Illustrator Skills

The first couple weeks of quarantine I was still in school and used my study breaks to sharpen my portfolio. I created these cute graphics from pictures of my friends and family, and pretty soon more friends were asking me to create one for them.
